Dr. Uri Geiger, Chairman
Dr. Uri Geiger brings with him extensive entrepreneurial know-how, having experience creating several new businesses and securing multiple investments in Israel's medical technology sector. He is currently the Managing partner and founder of Accelmed, a leading medical device investment firm.
Dr. Geiger has been involved in the financing and organization of many companies in the Israeli medical technology market, including X-Technologies (acquired by Guidant), VisionSense, Medson (acquired by Imadent), and others. He has a broad understanding and experience in capital markets, having earned a doctorate from New York's Columbia University Center for Law & Economic Studies, NYC, NY (USA) with a concentration in global equity markets. Dr. Geiger is also the founding partner of Dragon Variation Fund, one of Israel’s first hedge funds, and the author of the books “Startup Companies and Venture Capital” (Tel Aviv University Press, 2001) and “From Concept to Wall Street”(Financial Times - Prentice Hall, 2003).
Mori Arkin is one of Israel's most successful Life Science entrepreneurs. He is the Chairman and founder of Accelmed, a leading medical device investment firm. Mr. Arkin was the principal shareholder and Chairman of Agis Industries (1983) Ltd from its establishment until its merger with Perrigo in 2005. Agis, one of the leading generic pharmaceutical companies in Israel, merged with the US- based Perrigo in March 2005 in a $850 million transaction. Mr. Arkin has a degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Tel Aviv University (Israel).
Mr. Eyal Lifschitz is the CEO, General Partner, and Cofounder of Peregrine Ventures. Eyal serves on behalf of Peregrine Ventures on the boards of Valtech Cardio Ltd, NLT SPINE Ltd, and CardioGard Ltd .
Prior to founding Peregrine Ventures, Eyal cofounded numerous medical technology companies including: PharmaSys (acquired by Elan Corp. NYSE:ELN), ECR (acquired by AVX Corp. NYSE:AVX), Visioncare Ophthalmic Technologies BioControl Ltd. Eyal was also a director at Given Imaging (NASDAQ: GIVN).
Mr. Wehrly brings over 25 years of experience and expertise in the medical device field, and formerly served as President of Medtronic's $3 billion Spinal, Biologics and Navigation Division. He is the Group President of Covidien plc, a position he has held since July 2011. In this position, he is responsible for the Respiratory & Monitoring Solutions and Vascular Therapy businesses, as well as the Japan, Australia-New Zealand and Canada businesses. Mr. Wehrly held several executive-level roles at Medingo and Medtronic. He is a graduate of Ball State University (Indiana) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management.
Mr. Nir Arkin is the CEO and Head of the Arkin family office managing all aspects of the groups business activities. Nir focuses on the private equity and real estate part of the business. He serves on the board of directors of Exalenz Bioscience, Medical Compression Systems (MCS) , NLT Spine and Sphera Global Healthcare. As a member of Accelmed`s and Sphera Global Healthcare investment committees Nir is uses his acquaintance with the capital markets to contribute to its discussions and decisions. Nir holds a LLB degree and a BA from Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya and is a member of the Israeli Bar.
Zeev Zehavi joined Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation (JJDC) in 1999. Mr. Zehavi is based out of offices in Israel and Belgium.
Mr. Zehavi’s background covers an extensive array of health care and related businesses. He spent over ten years with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., as Area manager for Central America and Canada, and a five-year assignment in the US as President of the bulk chemical business in North America. He returned to Israel as the founder and President of Clal Pharmaceutical Industries (CPI) for four years. CPI is part of Clal Industries one of the largest private equity groups in Israel.
Mr. Zehavi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Hebrew University of Jerusalem school of Agriculture and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing and Finance from Tel Aviv University. He is fluent in Hebrew, English, and Arabic.
Between 1972 and 1978 Zeev served as an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces with the rank of Major in the Intelligence forces.
